One of our more popular beers of 2010 was our Java Stout, which combined a traditional dark stout with fresh coffee beans to give a nice kick. Often it is best to leave a good thing alone, but we felt this was still lacking something to better balance the heavy coffee presence. What better way to balance strong coffee than with milk? We went back to the drawing board and formulated our own milk stout recipe, adding lactose to the mix for a nice sweet addition along with a more creamy mouthfeel. To top things off, we used our own special house roast blend of coffee beans to make quite a treat for the tastebuds. A beer which can bring together both coffee and beer lovers alike!
